“Dr. Heiman is originally from Illinois where he received his undergraduate BA degree from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. He then went to University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine for his medical degree. After completing his medical internship at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL, Dr. Heiman relocated to southern California.
He completed his residency program at University of California at Irvine. He is a Board-certified anesthesiologist and a licensed physician in the state of California.
After many years practicing anesthesiology from a Western medicine perspective, Dr. Heiman became interested in alternative therapy to augment the more traditional medical techniques that we are more accustomed to using. This is what drew him to acupuncture. Two years ago he completed his medical acupuncture training at Helms Medical Institute for physicians. It is an affiliate of UCLA.
